Oooh, thank you for all the detail about the costumes, I've been wondering about the red and gold thing. I can guess some things, like basic 'this outfit is clearly fancier than that other one' level stuff, and observe basic visual choices like using cool/neutral colors for MCS vs spring colors (yellow/green/white) for Nihuang (my film degree: really paying off), and things like Consort Jing leveling up her outfits/colors is clearly correlated to her leveling up in status - but a lot of the detail is completely foreign to me.
