I think a lot of people have actually finished the show and liked it! Like -- not in English-speaking fandom much, but there is more than one piece of fanfic? But dare I say there is probably a reason in the general sense that there wasn't much of a push for adoption in English speaking fandoms because there's a higher bar to entry, and without neighborhood crack dealers (like us) hanging out around your friendly local fandom playground, like nobody's getting that first hit free the rest are on you shakes, you know?
